DINING WITH DELIA JO
AKA The "QUEEN OF QUESO"

About Delia Jo Bracken Richmond
Delia Jo Bracken Richmond is a food writer, storyteller, and sparkle-powered Southern force with over 16 years of experience spotlighting the heart behind the hospitality. Known as the “Queen of Queso” by day and the “Pizza Princess” by night, she’s spent her career uncovering the soulful, the sacred, and the slightly spicy stories behind meals that matter.
She began her journey in Dallas, building one of the earliest food blogs before it became a trend. After moving to Nashville, she became one of the South’s top food experts, contributing to major media outlets and championing chefs, restaurants, and food cultures across Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, and beyond. Her voice blends humor, heart, and honesty—whether she’s writing about tacos or trauma, biscuits or baptism.
Delia Jo is a lifelong “restaurant cheerleader” and was even voted “Most Likely to Review Restaurants” in high school. Born and raised in rural north Alabama, her passion for restaurants started young, naming chain signs on rides down University Drive in Huntsville. After a start in broadcast journalism, she fell in love with the dining scene in Dallas and launched Dining With Delia Jo in 2009.
She went on to serve as the 4-year editor of Eater Nashville before diving fully into freelance work, building her brand and platform while uplifting local food communities. Her work has appeared in The Nashvillian, Edible, City Lifestyle, Plano Magazine, Richardson Living Magazine, Prosper Magazine, Celina Magazine, CRAVE DFW, and ILiveInDallas.com. She’s also been featured on CW33, Dallas.com, GuideLive, BestFoodFeed, and major outlets like Forbes, The NY Times, Fox News, Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil, the Travel Channel, and the Cooking Channel. She was a boots-on-the-ground consultant for Phil Rosenthal’s Nashville taping of Somebody Feed Phil.
Delia Jo dines out daily—not just because she hates cooking, but because she loves the connection that happens around a table. She consults on restaurant projects, curates food tours, hosts events, and connects deeply with both her audience and the industry. Her love for storytelling has led to collaborations across the U.S., and her influence is deeply felt throughout the South.
She is proudly sober, autistic, and grounded by her faith. She shares her life and purpose with her husband Ryan, her blue-eyed Ragdoll cat Jasper, and a mission to make the world a little softer, sparklier, and more sincere.
She was named one of the Top 100 Foodie Instagrammers in the US by Zagat, and received one of the first-ever prestigious Zagat Foodie Award plaques. Dining With Delia Jo has been listed by City Lifestyle, 6amCity, and others as a top Nashville food influencer to follow.
